Demarche by Director-General KANAI Masaaki of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Chinese Deputy Chief of Mission Shi

On 6 January, following the announcement by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China to strengthen export control measures targeting dual-use items to Japan, on the same day, Director-General KANAI Masaaki of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly protested and demanded the withdrawal of these measures to Chinese Deputy Chief of Mission Shi Yong, stating that these measures, which only target Japan, deviate significantly from international practice, is absolutely unacceptable and deeply regrettable.
