The First Japan-Brazil Working Group Meeting on Cybersecurity

On December 16, the First Japan-Brazil Working Group Meeting on Cybersecurity was held online. The meeting was held based on the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of cybersecurity between Japan and Brazil signed in 2024.

  1. The meeting was held as part of the steady implementation of the "Strategic and Global Partnership Action Plan Japan-Brazil (2025-2030)" announced by the leaders of both countries in March of this year. From Japan, Ms. MIYANO Michiko, Deputy Director-General/Deputy Assistant Minister of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a representative of the National Cybersecurity Office (NCO), Cabinet Secretariat participated in this meeting. From Brazil, Mr. André Luiz Bandeira Molina, Secretary of the Secretariat for Information Security and Cybersecurity of the Institutional Security Cabinet of the Presidency of the Federative Republic of Brazil attended the meeting.
  2. In this Working Group Meeting, they had a discussion on the cybersecurity policies of both countries, the potential for cooperation between them and other issues.
