The 1st Japan-Viet Nam Foreign and Defence Vice-Ministerial Consultation (2+2)

On December 4, the 1st Japan-Viet Nam Foreign and Defence Vice-Ministerial Consultation (2+2) will be held in Tokyo. 

  1. Mr. Namazu Hiroyuki, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA), and Mr. KANO Koji, Vice-Minister of Defense for International Affairs (MOD), with the participation of officials from MOFA and MOD on the Japan side, as well as H.E Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and H.E Mr. Hoang Xuan Chien, Senior Lieutenant General, Deputy Minister of National Defence of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam with the participation of officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Defence on the Viet Nam side, will attend the consultation.
  2. This Consultation will be held for the first time based on the agreement between the leaders announced in a Japan-Viet Nam joint press release in April, this consultation will comprehensively discuss Japan-Viet Nam cooperation in the security sector, as well as regional and international affairs.
