Mr. OKUBO, Ambassador in charge of Gaza Rebuilding Assistance, shaking hands with H.E. Mr. Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan

On November 30 (local time), Mr. OKUBO Takeshi, the Special Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador in charge of Gaza Rebuilding Assistance, visited Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The overview is as follows:

  1. Courtesy Call on H.E. Mr. Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
    During the courtesy call, which is set to follow up on the discussions at the recent Japan-Jordan summit working dinner during King Abdullah II's visit to Japan, Ambassador OKUBO explained Japan's position on the situation in Gaza.
    Ambassador OKUBO also expressed his willingness to engage in information-sharing and exchange of views with regional countries, including Jordan, in order to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, achieve early recovery and reconstruction, and realize a two-state solution.
    In response, Deputy Prime Minister Safadi explained Jordan’s efforts to support Palestine and expressed appreciation for Japan's support for Palestine, including its response to the situation in Gaza.
    Through the courtesy call, they reaffirmed future cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.
  2. Ambassador OKUBO also exchanged views with other officials from Jordan and international organizations on the occasion of this visit and confirmed that they will work together towards the reconstruction of Gaza.
