Emergency Assistance to the Kingdom of Thailand in Response to the Flood Disaster

On November 29, upon the request of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Government of Japan has decided to provide emergency relief goods (tent, sleeping pad, blanket, plastic sheet, plastic tank and water purifier) through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to the Kingdom of Thailand in response to the damages caused by the flood.

In light of the humanitarian perspective and the friendship between Japan and the Kingdom of Thailand, Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance to the Kingdom of Thailand to support the people affected by the flood.

In Thailand, since November 17, the northeast monsoon has intensified over the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, causing widespread flood across the southern region due to intermittent heavy rainfall. According to the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand, the damage has affected approximately 1.1 million households and more than 3 million people throughout the southern region, with the death toll currently exceeding 100 (as of November 28).
