The recent situation in the West Bank

- The Government of Japan expresses its strong concern over the rapid increase of settler violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, which was reported by the United Nations. The Government of Japan calls on the Government of Israel to take appropriate measures to prevent settler violence.
- The Government of Japan reiterates that settlement activities are in violation of international law and undermine the viability of a two-state solution, and once again strongly urges the Government of Israel to fully freeze its settlement activities. The Government of Japan strongly calls for the need to refrain from actions that escalate tensions in the West Bank, as the international efforts for peace and stability in the Gaza Strip are ongoing.
