Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU by H. E. Ms. Julia LONGBOTTOM CMG, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Japan

On November 19, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. Ms. Julia LONGBOTTOM CMG, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU expressed her intention to advance cooperation in various fields that has been built up to date, in order to further strengthen Japan’s relationship with the United Kingdom, with whom Japan shares fundamental values and strategic interests.
- Ambassador Longbottom extended her congratulations on State Minister KUNIMITSU’s appointment and stated that the Japan-UK relations hold great potential, expressing her intention to continue working together toward further deepening the relationship.
- Both sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including cooperation in areas such as security, economy, and cultural exchange, and concurred to continue close coordination to further develop bilateral relations.
