Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ERI’s attendance at the Reception Commemorating the 120th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Norway

On November 12, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the reception commemorating the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Norway, which was held at the Norwegian Embassy in Japan, and delivered her remarks on behalf of the Government of Japan. The overview is as follows:
- In her speech, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI congratulated the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Norway, as well as the renovation and reopening of the Norwegian Embassy in Japan. She stated that Norway is an important strategic partner for Japan, and welcomed the fact that steady progress has been made regarding the bilateral cooperation in areas ranging from security, economy, to people-to-people exchanges.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI also stated that, given the challenges facing the international community, cooperation between the two countries has never been more important, and she is committed to furthering the development of the friendly relations between Japan and Norway.
