On October 29, commencing at 11:00 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by the Business Council of Canada (BCC) CEO delegation during its visit to Japan. The overview is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister HORII welcomed the delegation to Japan. He stated that Japan and Canada are strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific region and have been working closely together in international fora including the G7 and the CPTPP. He noted positive developments in recent years in the economic field, including progress on large-scale projects involving Japanese companies, and expressed hope for Japan-Canada cooperation to be further promoted.
  2. State Minister HORII and the delegation exchanged views on a wide range of areas, including trade, economic security, and strengthening bilateral economic relations. They confirmed their commitment to further promote cooperation going forward.
