On October 28, commencing at 4:00 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with the Honorable Mr. Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Commerce of the United States of America, who is accompanying the Honorable Donald. J. Trump, President of the United States of America on his visit to Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows: 

  1. At the outset, Minister MOTEGI welcomed Secretary Lutnick on his visit to Japan and stated that he would like to further deepen Japan-U.S. economic relations through the implementation of the Agreement between Japan and the U.S. In response, Secretary Lutnick noted that he would like to further advance cooperation with Japan, and they concurred to strengthen collaboration toward the implementation of the Agreement between Japan and the U.S.
  2. In addition, they exchanged their views on a wide range of fields, including cooperation between Japan and the U.S. to enhance economic security, and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen collaboration at various levels to strengthen Japan-U.S. relations in the future.
