Diplomats’ Study Tour in Bizen City and Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture

On October 30 and 31, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will conduct a study tour in Bizen City and Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, for diplomatic corps in Japan, co-hosted by Bizen City and Setouchi City.
- Diplomats’ study tour program, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and local governments, have been held annually since 2010 to introduce the diverse charms of Japan’s regions, such as local history, culture, tourism, specialties, and industries, to the diplomatic corps in Japan.
- The tour this time, under the theme“Experience the timeless art of craftmanship”, will introduce the diverse attractions of Bizen and Setouchi cities to the diplomatic corps by providing opportunities to appreciate precious historical artifacts and traditional craft artworks, and to experience hands-on pottery-making.
- The tour is expected to deepen the diplomatic corps' understanding of diverse charms and attractions of Bizen and Setouchi cities, and to foster stronger ties between Bizen and Setouchi cities and participating countries.
