Emergency Assistance to the United Mexican States in Response to the flood

Today, October 20, upon the request of the Government of the United Mexican States, the Government of Japan has decided to provide emergency relief goods (sanitary products) through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to the United Mexican States in response to the damages caused by the flood.

In light of the humanitarian perspective and the close relations between Japan and the United Mexican States, Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance to the United Mexican States to support the people affected by the flood.

In the United Mexican States, the flood that occurred in the country from October 6 to 9 has resulted in a large number of those affected, including the loss of lives and significant physical damage. According to the Government of the United Mexican States, the damage reached 72 deaths (as of October 18) and over 100,000 damaged buildings (as of October 14).
