Emergency assistance to the Central Philippines in response to earthquake damage
On October 10, upon the request of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, the Government of Japan has decided to provide emergency relief goods (tents, blankets, plastic sheets, sleeping pads, portable jerry cans, portable water purifiers) through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to the Philippines in response to the damages caused by the earthquake.
In light of the humanitarian perspective and the close relations between Japan and the Philippines, Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance to the Philippines to support the people affected by the earthquake.

In the Philippines, the earthquake occurred the country on September 30 has resulted in a large number of those affected including the loss of lives, and significant physical damage. According to the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, as of September 30, 72 people died, 6,925 people evacuated, and approximately 670,000 people were affected.
