On October 10, commencing at 10:30 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. MATSUMOTO Hisashi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with Mr. Anders ADLERCREUTZ, Minister of Education and Minister for Nordic Cooperation of the Republic of Finland, who was visiting Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister MATSUMOTO welcomed the visit of Minister ADLERCREUTZ to Japan, and stated that Japan and Finland are strategic partners sharing common values and principles, and that he wishes to continue strengthening cooperation and coordination in various fields, including the Arctic and Nordic cooperation. In response, Minister Adlercreutz stated that Finland wishes to continue strengthening cooperation with Japan.
  2. They also exchanged views on various topics including the Arctic, Nordic cooperation and security matters.
