On October 9, Ms. IKUINA Akiko, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the National Day Reception of the Kingdom of Spain, which was held in Tokyo, and delivered her remarks on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows:

  1. In her remarks, Parliamentary Vice-Minister IKUINA mentioned the visit of numerous dignitaries from Spain to Japan, prompted by this year’s Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, as well as the “25th Japan-Spain Forum” to be held in Barcelona in late October. She stated that Japan and Spain are important partners sharing fundamental values, and the traditional friendly relations between the two countries have steadily progressed in many fields over the years.
  2. Furthermore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister IKUINA expressed her expectation for further development in exchanges between Japan and Spain. She also stated her commitment, as Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, to making efforts to enrich the relationship between the two countries even more.
