Signing and Exchange of Notes Concerning Grant Aid “the Project for the Improvement of Environment for Developing Engineers through Japanese-style Tertiary Education in Engineering” to Mongolia

October 9, 2025

On October 8, in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, Mr. IGAWAHARA Masaru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia, and H. E. Mr. Bold JAVKJLAN, Minister of Finance of Mongolia, signed and exchanged notes concerning the grant aid project for the Project for the Improvement of Environment for Developing Engineers through Japanese-style Tertiary Education in Engineering (grant provision of up to 1,869 million yen).

  1. In Mongolia, it has been an important challenge to develop highly skilled engineers in order to support the diversification of the industrial structure. Japan aims to strengthen the foundation for the development of engineers in Mongolia by providing practical equipment and constructing practice building for three technical colleges in Ulaanbaatar, offering higher education as those in Japan do.
  2. Through this cooperation, the human resources from those technical colleges are expected to contribute to the diversification of Mongolia's industry in the future, and also to the mutual understanding between Japan and Mongolia and the circulation of human resources to the Japanese industrial and academic field.
