The Japan-Netherlands Peace Exchange Program 2025
From September 19 to 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan invited six Dutch citizens to Japan under the framework of the Japan–Netherlands Peace Exchange Program. The purpose of this program is to promote mutual understanding between Japan and the Netherlands by inviting Dutch people who have a difficult relationship with Japan due to their experiences during World War II and by encouraging emotional reconciliation.
During their visit to Japan, the participants visited Nagasaki Prefecture, where they toured the Atomic Bomb Museum, laid flowers at the Camp Fukuoka 14b monument, visited Peace Park, interacted with elementary school students, and made a courtesy call on Mr. SUZUKI Shiro, Mayor of Nagasaki City. They also interacted with university students during their stay in Tokyo.
