Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs MATSUMOTO by Mr. Giogrio Silli, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperaion of the Italian Republic

On September 24, commencing at 5:00 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. MATSUMOTO Hisashi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by Mr. Giorgio SILLI, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic, who was visiting Japan. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister MATSUMOTO welcomed the Undersecretary Silli, and stated that Japan and Italy are strategic partners who share the values and principles. Parliamentary Vice-Minister MATSUMOTO commented that the next year, 2026, will be the 160th anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Italy, through which the two countries will further strengthen bilateral relations in every cooperation field. In response, Undersecretary Silli stated Italy looks forward to continuing close collaboration with Japan.
