Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ERI by Mr. Cisneros, President of the Naoko Mitsui Shirane Foundation

On September 16, commencing at 10:55 a.m. for approximately 40 minutes, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by Mr. Henry Gabriel Cisneros, President of the Naoko Mitsui Shirane Foundation. The overview of the courtesy call is follows:

  1. At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI welcomed President Cisneros to Japan, commended his achievements, and expressed her respect for his contributions to strengthening the bonds between Japan and the United States, while also referring to his Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals this year.
  2. After expressing his gratitude, President Cisneros mentioned that he was visiting Japan to deliver a speech at the 2025 U.S.-Japan Sister Cities Summit, and expressed his intention to continue working closely together to further strengthen relations between Japan and the State of Texas.
  3. In addition, they exchanged views on domestic and social affairs in Japan and the United States.

A cultural exchange organization established to carry on the legacy of SHIRANE Naoko, former representative of Texas Japan Office. It aims to nurture the next generation through international exchange by dispatching Texas high school students to Japanese municipalities such as Kumamoto prefecture.
