The Forth Meeting of the Quantum Development Group

On September 8-9, Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs hosted the fourth meeting of the Quantum Development Group in Tokyo. Joining Japan were representatives from Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

  1. The participants acknowledged the significant and transformative opportunities that quantum technologies bring to society and the far-reaching implications for economic security and national security.
  2. The participants committed to deeper collaboration to create a resilient, secure and trusted quantum ecosystem in line with shared interests and values that builds on like-minded countries’ strengths for quantum technology development.
  3. The participants support closer collaboration with industry, academia and investors to mitigate risks and support innovation.
