The 13th Japan-Pakistan Foreign Secretary Level Bilateral Political Consultations

The 13th Japan-Pakistan Foreign Secretary Level Bilateral Political Consultations was held in Islamabad, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on September 4, 2025. Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Nabeel Munir, Special Secretary (UN), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan represented respective sides.
- During the meeting, Japan and Pakistan exchanged views on economic relations and trade/investment cooperation, security and defense cooperation, people-to-people and cultural exchange, disarmament and non-proliferation, global issues including climate change, cooperation within international organizations, and regional issues.
- The Pakistan’s side expressed its appreciation to Japan's development cooperation to date. In response, the Japanese side stated its intention to continue to support Pakistan's development and prosperity. Both sides concurred to continue working closely together to address various issues in forums such as the United Nations.
