State Minister FUJII exchanging opinions with the chair Ms. Boriana Åberg

On August 18, commencing at 5:45 p.m., for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by Sweden-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association headed by its chair Ms. Boriana Åberg. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.

  1. At the outset, State Minister Fujii stated that Sweden is a strategic partner of Japan that shares values and principles, and welcomed the visit of the Sweden-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association. State Minister Fujii also expressed his hope to develop relations between the two countries in all areas. In response Ms. Åberg stated that she would like to continue close cooperation with Japan.
  2. They exchanged views on a variety of topics, including Sweden’s participation in the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, Strategic Partnership between Japan and Sweden, and the situations in Ukraine and East Asia.
