Congratulatory Letter from Foreign Minister IWAYA Takeshi to Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD
On July 25, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, sent a congratulatory letter to Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) , following his reappointment.
In this letter, Foreign Minister Iwaya extended his congratulations on Secretary-General Cormann’s reappointment as the Secretary-General of the OECD. He also appreciated the decision to grant Indonesia and Thailand candidate status for OECD membership as a historic step in strengthening the relationship between the OECD and Southeast Asia, and expressed that Japan remains firmly committed to supporting the progress of the accession process for both countries going forward. He also asked for Secretary-General Cormann’s continued understanding and support for further enhancing the presence of Japanese staff.
