Japan-UK Consultation on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation

On July 24, the Japan-UK Consultation on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation was held in London.

  1. The Japanese side was represented by Dr. NAKAMURA Kimitake, Ambassador, Director-General of Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the UK side was represented by Mr. Stephen Lillie, Director for Defence and International Security, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
  2. At the consultation, the two sides exchanged views on important current issues in the areas of disarmament and non-proliferation, including Iran’s nuclear issues as well as the maintenance and strengthening of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) regime.
