Courtesy call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs MATSUMOTO by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan

On July 7, commencing at 05:05 p.m. for approximately 40 minutes, Mr. MATSUMOTO Hisashi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Mr. SHARIFZODA Farrukh Homiddin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, who visited Japan for Japan-Tajikistan political dialogue. The overview is as follows.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto mentioned that Tajikistan is a partner for Japan to maintain and strengthen free and open international order based on the rule of law and expressed his willingness to closely work with Deputy Minister Sharifzoda to further deepen the relations between the two countries.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto referred to efforts to promote tangible cooperation with Tajikistan through the Central Asia plus Japan Dialogue: Experts’ Seminar on Water Issues in March and others, and welcomed the success of the Tajikistan National Day event of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan on June 27.
- Both parties agreed on further development of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations as well as enhancing cooperation in the framework of the “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue.
