Meeting between Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and Ms. Isabelle BERRO AMADEI, Interim Minister of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Principality of Monaco

On June 24, commencing at 11:00 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with H.E. Ms. Isabelle BERRO AMADEI, Interim Minister of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Principality of Monaco, who is visiting Japan to participate in the National Day event of the Principality of Monaco at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
- At the outset, State Minister Fujii welcomed the visit to Japan by His Serene Highnesses Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco, and H.E. Ms. BERRO AMADEI, Interim Minister of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and other dignitaries of the Principality of Monaco on the occasion of the Monaco National Day at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. State Minister Fujii stated that the year 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Monaco, and expressed his desire to further develop the friendly bilateral relationship, building on the longstanding ties between the Imperial Family of Japan and the Royal Household of Monaco.
- In response, Minister Berro Amadei expressed her congratulations on the success of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, and stated her hope that the visit to Japan by H.S.H Prince and Albert II and other dignitaries of the Principality of Monaco would contribute to further strengthen Japan-Monaco relations.
- The two sides reaffirmed the shared recognition that the security of the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific is inseparable and confirmed that Japan and Monaco will work closely together on various issues of the international community such as the situation in Ukraine, the situation in East Asian including North Korea, and the recent situation in the Middle East.
