On June 3, commencing at 4:00 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from Honourable David EBY, Premier of British Columbia, Canada, during her visit to Japan. The summary overview is as follows.

At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri stated that Japan and Canada are important strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific region that share fundamental values, and that Japan would like to further strengthen its relationship with British Columbia. In response, Premier Eby stated that British Columbia would like to further advance cooperation with Japan.
  2. Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri and Premier Eby exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including people-to-people exchange through the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, energy, food security, as well as the strengthening of economic ties, and confirmed their commitment to further cooperation in the future.
