International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Lise Meitner Programme (LMP)

From June 9 to 20, Japan will host the IAEA's Lise Meitner Programme, which provides career development opportunities for young and mid-career female researchers and professionals in the nuclear field.
- Japan has been supporting IAEA's efforts to develop human resources in the nuclear field.
- This program is co-hosted by the IAEA and Japan Atomic Energy Commission in the Cabinet Office. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan supports the hosting of this program in Japan, including through financial contributions.
- Approximately 15 female researchers and experts in the nuclear field from Japan and various countries, selected by the IAEA, are scheduled to participate in the program, which includes lectures at the University of Tokyo and the Japan Atomic Energy Agency as well as visits to nuclear-related facilities within Japan over the two weeks.
- This program will further strengthen cooperation between Japan and the IAEA and promote the participation of more women in the field of nuclear science and technology.
