Courtesy Call on Foreign Minister IWAYA by the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources

On May 26, 2025, commencing at 10:25 a.m., for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from the delegation of the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Iwaya welcomed the delegation of the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources on their visit to Japan, and expressed gratitude for their strong support for the Japan-U.S. Alliance in the U.S. Congress, as the importance of the Japan-U.S. Alliance grows stronger than ever.
- Minister Iwaya explained Japan's position on the US tariff measures.
- In addition, the two sides exchanged views on how Japan and the United States can cooperate on energy security and critical minerals.
