Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto by Ms. Susan Brown, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

On May 9, from 3:30 PM to 3:50 PM, Mr. MATSUMOTO Hisashi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs received a curtesy call by Ms. Susan Brown, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy, United Nations Development Programme, during her visit to Japan for the 14th Japan-UNDP Strategic Dialogue. The overview is as follows:
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto expressed his high appreciation for the role that UNDP has played in the field in various countries where development cooperation is actually being carried out and stated his desire to further strengthen the strategic partnership. In addition, he also stated that he would like to see Japan's extensive knowledge in areas such as health and disaster recovery utilized in UNDP activities.
- In response, Ms. Brown expressed her gratitude for Japan's consistent support for UNDP and stated her desire to work closely with Japan in the field of development.
- Both sides concurred to further strengthen various initiatives, including collaboration with the private sector, based on the outcomes of the 14th Japan-UNDP Strategic Dialogue.
