Meeting between Mr. NAKAMURA Ryo, Director-General for Global Issues, and Mr. Haoliang Xu, UN Under-Secretary-General, UNDP Associate Administrator

On April 30, Mr. NAKAMURA Ryo, Director-General for Global Issues, exchanged views with Mr. Haoliang Xu, UN Under-Secretary-General, UNDP Associate Administrator.
The outline of the meeting as follows.
- Mr. NAKAMURA expressed his high appreciation for the role that UNDP has played in the field of development, including the promotion of human security and addressing global issues through the advancement of the SDGs, and emphasized his intention to further strengthen strategic cooperation.
- In response, Mr. Xu expressed his gratitude for Japan's consistent support for UNDP and stated that he would like to work closely with Japan in various development fields.
- The two exchanged frank views on such issues as future strategic priorities and the overall approach to development cooperation.
