Dispatch of a JICA Expert Team in Response to the Earthquake in Myanmar

The Government of Japan has decided to dispatch a JICA Expert Team to Myanmar from April 27 to May 3. The Team is scheduled to depart Japan from April 27 onwards.
- The Expert Team to be dispatched this time will visit Yangon and the affected areas, including Mandalay, to assess the situation of the affected areas and the humanitarian needs.
- Since the earthquake, the Government of Japan has dispatched the JDR Medical Team, provided emergency relief goods, and extended Emergency Grant Aid through international organizations. Taking into consideration the humanitarian needs on the ground, the Government of Japan continues to provide as much humanitarian assistance as possible in the manner that directly benefits the people of Myanmar who are in need.
