The Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino to Visit Japan

- H.E. Ms. Denise Bronzetti and H.E. Mr. Italo Righi, The Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino will visit Japan from 1 May until 5 May to attend Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
- During their stay in Japan, Their Excellencies the Captains Regent will make a State Call on His Majesty the Emperor.
- The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of Their Excellencies the Captains Regent and hopes the visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the Republic of San Marino.

The Republic of San Marino’s heads of state are two Captains Regent. The Captains Regent are elected every six months from amongst the members of the Great and General Council (equivalent to members of the Diet) and take office on April 1 and October 1 of each year.
This will be the first visit to Japan for the Captains Regent, H.E. Ms. Bronzetti and H.E. Mr. Righi. The former Captains Regent, H.E. Venturini and H.E. Nicolini, visited Japan on the occasion of Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in July 2021.
