Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs MATSUMOTO’s attendance at The Netherlands’ King’s Day Reception

On April 24, 2025, Mr. MATSUMOTO Hisashi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the Netherlands’ King’s Day Reception held at the residence of the Dutch Ambassador to Japan and delivered a speech on behalf of the Government of Japan. The overview is as follows.
- In his speech, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto stated that this year marks the 425th anniversary of exchanges between Japan and the Netherlands, and mentioned the recent visit to Japan by Prime Minister Schoof and the announcement of the Japan-Netherlands Action Plan 2025, which will serve as a guideline for future bilateral cooperation.
- Furthermore, referring to the opening of the Dutch Pavilion with the theme of "Common Ground" at the Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto stated that he expects people-to-people exchanges between the two countries to become even more active in a wide range of areas in 2025, and that he hopes to work towards further deepening and developing Japan-Netherlands relations.
