Japan’s support for the earthquake damage in the central Myanmar

- On the afternoon of March 28, an earthquake struck central Myanmar, resulting in numerous casualties in both Myanmar and Thailand. The Japanese government, including Prime Minister ISHIBA and Foreign Minister IWAYA, has issued condolence messages to the governments of Thailand and the people of Myanmar.
- Given the damage in Myanmar, the Japanese government is prepared to provide all possible support. We are currently assessing the needs on the ground, security conditions, and access to affected areas to determine how best to assist. As a first step, we are coordinating the swift provision of supplies. Japan remains committed to standing with the people of Myanmar and will continue to provide its support.
