Signing of the Convention on Border Issues between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan

- Japan welcomes that the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan signed a border treaty between the two countries on March 13 (local time).
- Japan commends the political will of the leaders of the two countries and the efforts of their governments to bring the long-standing border delimination negotiations to a successful conclusion and the signing of this historic treaty through constructive dialogue between the two governments.
- Japan supports intra-regional cooperation between the Central Asian countries and hopes that the ratification of this treaty will contribute not only to the promotion of bilateral relations between the two countries but also to the promotion of peace and stability in the Central Asian region.
