Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs IKUINA Akiko by Participants of the 9th Japan-China-ROK Trilateral Journalists Exchange Program

On March 6, commencing at 11 a.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs IKUINA Akiko received a courtesy call from journalists from Japan, China, and the ROK who participate in the 9th Trilateral Journalists Exchange Program. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ikuina commended the progress of trilateral cooperation since the revitalization of the Japan-China-ROK process at the Trilateral Summit in May last year, which was the first summit in four and a half years, and expressed her intention to promote future-oriented cooperation among the three countries under Japan’s Chairmanship.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ikuina also expressed her hope that through the Trilateral Journalists Exchange Program, journalists from the three countries will deepen their friendship and understanding of each other’s viewpoints and positions.
- In response, the delegation stated the importance of trilateral cooperation and multi-layered exchanges including exchanges among journalists of the three countries.

The Trilateral Journalists Exchange Program has been conducted by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) to promote mutual understanding among journalists from Japan, China and the ROK. During this year’s program, 12 journalists, four from each of the three countries, will visit Beijing, Tokyo, and Seoul.
