Meeting between State Minister for Foreign Affairs MIYAJI and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Arzu Rana Deuba

 On February 17, from 3:20 p.m. (10:20 a.m. February 17, local time) for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. MIYAJI Takuma, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with H.E. Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal during his visit to Muscat, Oman, to attend the 8th Indian Ocean Conference. The overview of the meeting is as follows.

  1. State Minister MIYAJI, referring to the longstanding and strong friendship between Japan and Nepal, expressed his desire to further develop the bilateral relations. Minister Deuba expressed her gratitude to Japan’s assistance over the years.
  2. State Minister MIYAJI stated that Japan would like to continue to work together for the peace, stability, and prosperity in the region, and also Japan would like to continue to provide high quality development cooperation that will improve the lives of the Nepalese people, including in the areas of the infrastructure and climate change.
  3. The two Ministers concurred to cooperate to further promote friendly relations between the two countries by organizing high-level visits towards the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2026. State Minister MIYAJI also welcomed Nepal's participation in the Osaka-Kansai Expo and expressed his hope that many people from Nepal would visit Japan, including on Nepal Day at the Expo on 31 May.
