Attendance of State Ministers for Foreign Affairs Fujii and Miyaji at the Military Mess Dinner held at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo

On February 5, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki and Mr. MIYAJI Takuma, State Ministers for Foreign Affairs, attended a military mess dinner held at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo.

  1. In addition to the State Ministers for Foreign Affairs, the dinner was also attended by many Japanese and Australian dignitaries and officials, including Mr. NAKATANI Gen, Minister of Defense of Japan, and General YOSHIDA Yoshihide, the Chief of Staff of the Joint Staff, H.E. Mr. Justin Hayhurst, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Japan, and Admiral David Johnston, the Chief of the Australian Defence Force.
  2. Japan and Australia are “Special Strategic Partners” that cooperate closely together to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”. In recent years, Japan and Australia’s security and defense ties have dramatically developed, and the military mess dinner also aimed to strengthen the bilateral relationship through exchanges among those involved in the security and defense cooperation of the two countries.
