Meeting between State Minister FUJII and H.E.Mr. NABÉ, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of Guinea

On January 30, commencing at 11:20 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Ismaël NABÉ, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of the Republic of Guinea, who is visiting Japan. An overview of the meeting is as follows.

  1. At the outset, State Minister Fujii referred to the cooperation between the two countries in a wide range of fields, including improvement of food security, infrastructure development, and improvement of basic social services, and stated that Japan intends to continue to encourage Guinea towards political transition and a realization of political stability, with a view to further strengthening bilateral relations. State Minister Fujii also welcomed Guinea’s participation in the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan and expressed his hope for Guinea’s participation in the Green × EXPO 2027 as well.
  2. In response, Minister Nabé extended his gratitude for the various assistance provided by Japan. Minister Nabé also indicated the importance of Japanese cooperation especially in the field of human resources development and expressed his hope for Japan’s expanded investment in Guinea. Minister Nabé also explained the process towards its political transition.
  3. The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional affairs, including UN Security Council reform and stabilization in the Sahel region, and concurred to continue to strengthen bilateral and international cooperation.
