Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI’s attendance at the Science, Technology and Innovation New Year’s Reception


On January 22, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended and delivered speech at the Science, Technology and Innovation New Year’s Reception held at the Delegation of the EU to Japan.
In her speech, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI stated that Japan and the EU are strategic partners who uphold the free and open international order based on the rule of law, and are addressing jointly various challenges faced by the international community. She also noted that under the Japan-EU Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement, we have been able to develop collaborative relationships in research and development between academia and businesses. Furthermore, she pointed out that science, technology and innovation sits at the crux of diplomacy for the future and its importance is ever more increasing, and expressed her gratitude for the continued contributions and interest of all those involved in this very important endeavor.
