Inauguration of the independent Mission of Japan to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)

- On January 15, 2025, the Mission of Japan to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was inaugurated as an independed mission from the Embassy of Japan in Belgium.
- Japan and NATO are partners sharing fundamental values and strategic interests. As it has become further evident that the security of Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific is inseparable, the Japan-NATO relationship has developed in a concrete manner in recent years.
- The inauguration of this independent mission will enable Japan to cooperate with NATO more efficiently and to contribute to further enhancing and developing the relationship between Japan and NATO in the future.
