On January 10, regarding the devastating damages caused by the wild fires in California, U.S., Foreign Minister IWAYA Takeshi sent the following messages of condolences to the Honorable Antony Blinken，Secretary of State of the United States of America.
“I am writing to express my deepest sympathies to the Government and the people of the United States as I learned of the devastating damages caused by the wildfires in California. I hope the fires will be brought under control as soon as possible. Japan stands with the U.S. and its people at this difficult time. Let me send my prayers to the victims and hope the earliest possible recovery from this disaster. ”
