The Fifth Meeting of the East Micronesia Cable Project Executive Board

On December 4, the Fifth Meeting of the East Micronesia Cable Project Executive Board was held online.
- This project is a collaborative assistance project by Japan, Australia and the United States announced in December 2021. At this meeting, representatives from Japan, Australia, Kiribati, the Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, and the United States, confirmed that progress had been made since the previous meeting of the project executive board held in May this year, including the manufacturing of the cable and the aboveground works.
- Japan will continue to work closely with each country for the steady implementation of this project, which will provide faster, higher quality, more reliable and secure communications to more than 100,000 people in these three countries in the Pacific region.
