Provision of Relief Supplies for Displaced Persons in Lebanon

On November 29, the Government of Japan decided at a Cabinet meeting to provide relief supplies to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in response to their request. UNHCR is conducting international humanitarian relief operations for displaced persons in Lebanon. In accordance with the International Peace Cooperation Act, Japan will provide UNHCR with 6,500 blankets, 2,500 plastic sheets, and 6,500 sleeping mats, free of charge.
