Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs HOSAKA Attends the 2024 Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Overseas Training Cruise Crew Homecoming Ceremony
On November 11, Mr. HOSAKA Yasushi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the “2024 Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Overseas Training Cruise Homecoming Ceremony” at the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Yokosuka Base and delivered a congratulatory address. The overview is as follows.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister HOSAKA gave words of appreciation to the entry-level officers on completing the six-month voyage, highlighting the significance of visiting partner countries and strengthening Japan’s friendly international relations in this important year.
- Many dignitaries attended the homecoming ceremony, including Ambassadors of related countries.
This program develops seamanship through long-term voyages and training for entry-level officers who have graduated from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Officer Candidate School, providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary for an officer position. It also promotes friendly relations with the visited countries through bilateral exercises and exchange events. The ship departed from Harumi Wharf on May 20th and visited 13 ports in 11 countries around the world.
