Senior Deputy Minister AKAHORI’s participation to the event on Protection of Humanitarian Personnel

On September 23 (local time, 24 on JST), Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan delivered a speech at the event on the Protection of Humanitarian Personnel held during the 79th United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week.
- The event was organized by Australian government and participants including ministers from various countries and United Nations organizations personnel had discussion on the actions required to ensure the protection of humanitarian personnel and the action forward.
- From Japan, Senior Deputy Minister AKAHORI delivered a speech and stated that Japan will cooperate with international community to take actions such as promote the implementation of UN Security Council resolution including resolution 2730, support the International Criminal Court (ICC), cooperate with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), promote Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), in order to promote compliance with International Humanitarian Law and to ensure the safety of humanitarian personnel.
