Emergency Assistance to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Response to the Typhoon Disaster

Today, September 11, upon the request of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the Government of Japan has decided to provide emergency relief goods (water purifier, and plastic sheets) through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam) in response to the damages caused by the typhoon disaster.

In light of the humanitarian perspective and the close relations between Japan and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to support the people affected by the disaster.

In the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the Typhoon hit the country on 7 September has resulted in a large number of those affected including the loss of lives, and significant physical damage. According to the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, as of September 11, 296 people dead and missing, 818 people were injured, and 140,418 houses were damaged.
