Courtesy Call on Foreign Minister Kamikawa by the Hon. Robert Wilkie, Distinguished Fellow, America First Policy Institute

On September 3, commencing at 10:40 a.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call by the Hon. Robert Wilkie, Distinguished Fellow, America First Policy Institute during his visit to Japan. The summary of the courtesy call is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Minister Kamikawa welcomed the Hon. Wilkie and stated that the United States and Japan are global partners, bound by deep trust and a multilayered friendship, working together to address the problems of the international community and that the two countries are working together for further enhancement of deterrent and coping capabilities of the alliance.
  2. Both sides exchanged views on issues facing the Indo-Pacific region and agreed on the importance of strengthening the Japan-U.S. partnership and the like-minded countries in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law.
