Deposit of the Instrument of Acceptance of the GIGO Establishment Convention

On July 3, Japan deposited the instrument of acceptance of the Convention on the Establishment of the “Global Combat Air Programme – GCAP International Government Organisation” with the depositary, the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
- This Convention requires ratification or acceptance by all the Parties. This Convention will enter into force on the day following the deposit of the last instrument of ratification or acceptance of the Parties.
- It is expected that, through the entry into force of this Convention and the establishment of the GIGO, a system for controlling and managing the GCAP in an integrated manner will be built, whereby contributing to the facilitation of the joint development.
